RYOAN-Ji TEMPLE AND GARDEN - KYOTO

In a walking distance from the Golden Pavilion you can find the Ryoan-ji Temple. 

In this site you can find one of Japans most famous rock garden. In the rock garden are placed 15 rocks with small pads of moss... a very beautiful layout. It says ( I did not test it) that from any angle the garden is viewed only 14 of the 15 rocks are visible at any given time. The best time to visit the garden is in the morning as there are less people.

On the site there are also a big park with a lake you can walk around.

GOLDEN PAVILION KINKAKU-JI KYOTO

On a rainy day we visited the Golden Pavilion Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto. A lot of school kids so it is best to visit the place right when they open or right before they close to avoid the biggest crowds. It is fantastic place with a nice garden around the pavilion... even on a rainy day :-)

SHOSEI-EN GARDEN KYOTO

During our visit in japan we also went 8 days to Kyoto. What a wonderful historic city. We stayed in one of the famous Ryokans and nearby the SHOSEI-EN GARDEN was located. We dropped by for a visit.. if you go to Kyoto during the summertime.. a small tip: There are A LOT of mosquitos.. so bring spray and creme!!
